Following on our update on Sekelekani Cooperative last week, we are again happy to report that, in addition to the chilli sales, the Cooperative also sold over 450kg of raw honey, harvested from their various hives at their agricultural plot and along the border line human-elephant conflict resolution fence. Additionally, their beehives continue to deter elephants from invading their crops and crossing over into communities, further proving the efficacy of the beehive fencing concept as a way of ensuring communities and wildlife coexist symbiotically as part of one ecosystem.
